Gen-Con Construction Solutions is a specialist quantity takeoff and cost estimating practice serving contractors, builders and developers across five countries.
The story
Gen-Con began when a small general contractor kept walking away from invitations to tender. Not because the work was wrong, but because there were not enough hours in the week to measure the drawings. The estimating was happening at 11pm, after site.
We took that work off his desk. He went from three bids a month to eight, and won two of them. That is still the whole idea: a contractor's time is worth more on the job than behind a scale rule.
Today we run as a remote estimating desk for firms in the US, UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, with the same certified quantity surveyors on every project, working to whatever bid format your client already expects.

Bad estimates cost real money, in jobs lost to a padded number and in jobs won on a number that was too thin. Our job is to give you quantities you can defend line by line, so pricing becomes a business decision instead of a guess.
Every takeoff ships with the marked-up drawings behind it. You can open the PDF, see the colour-coded scope, and check any figure in seconds. Speed only counts if the work holds up under scrutiny.

No rotating pool of subcontracted labour. The person who learns your assemblies, your waste factors and your preferred suppliers is the person on your next set.
Missing details, conflicts between plan and spec, unclear finishes. You get an RFI list with the estimate, not a quiet assumption buried in a cell.
